Our client tasked us with the removal of about nine cubic metres of concrete on the South East and South West string spans of a footbridge in Reading, UK, to pave the way for repairs. Each span needed a total of 4.5 cubic metres of concrete removed. This hydrodemolition task was entirely done with the Jetframe Nalta 101 at a  pressure of 2600bar 30lpm.

This being a hydrodemolition task with a few safety risks, robotic demolition, like always, was the best course of action. For great results, Ammlee Group used the small-sized Conjet’s Jetframe Nalta 101. This robot allows selective concrete removal and precision even in areas with limited space and was, therefore, a great fit for this task.

Ammlee Group International successfully removed the nine cubic metres of concrete in an impressive timeframe of 5 days using a total of 90,000 litres of water. This translates to an average of 1.8 cubic metres of concrete removed per every 10-hour shift.

The collected water used in robotic hydrodemolition was treated to balance the pH between 7 and 8 and was then discharged back into the system after confirming it was safe for recycling.
